Motu Tau Tau Tahaa

Superbly located right on the coral reef just a short hop away from Tahaa, lays the exclusive islet of Motu Tau Tau. This little piece of paradise offers unsurpassed vistas out towards Bora Bora on one side and impressive views back across the emerald lagoon to Tahaa on the other. With pristine white-sand beaches fringed by swaying palm trees and crystal clear waters perfect for a spot of snorkeling; it’s easy to see why this idyllic island attracts so much attention.

The snorkeling is superb and the calm, secluded lagoon is home to a wide variety of reef fish and plant life.  Head for the ‘Hoa’, a sea passage between the reef and lagoon and let a friendly barracuda be your guide as you explore this magical underwater kingdom; expect to see schools of red snappers, shimmering tuna, reef sharks and leopard rays on your travels. For those seeking a deeper experience there are some impressive dives to be had amongst the numerous grottoes, crevices and wrecks of the outer reef. A special resident here is the striking Distichopora coral, which creates splendid yellow and violet tones on the outward slopes.

Back ashore the luxurious island resort has three restaurants serving up anything from rustic local seafood delicacies to sumptuous international dishes; and with two bars to choose from the choice of which cocktail to sample first is the easiest choice you’ll need to make.
