Ponza

Ponza and Ventotene are the only two inhabited islands in the group known as the Pontine Islands. They're also something of a mecca for weekending Romans, who are drawn by the irresistible combination of scenic craggy coastlines, emerald green waters and a whole host of excellent seafood restaurants. In recent times, Ponza and Ventotene have acquired a reputation as being to Rome what The Hamptons are to New York. Their popularity as a getaway, however, is nothing new with Homer refering to Ponza in the Odyssey as the perfect place for a little R and R.

The highest point on jagged, crescent-shaped Ponza is Monte La Guardia and a hike to the top will reward your stamina with spectacular views from the top.  Porto di Ponza has shops and restaurants, while the best beach on the island is at Cala Chiaia di Luna. The coastline has numerous ocean caves and quiet anchorages to guarantee that a Ponza yacht charter will be an entirely pleasurable and memorable experience.
