Sivota is a delightful waterfront village situated in an almost landlocked bay at the southern end of the island of Levkas. The approach to the bay is difficult to see until you are almost upon it. Some say that this is where Odysseus landed and that Evgiros, to the west of Sivota, is the site of the legendary Cave of the Nymphs.

These days, Sivota relies for its existence on the trade that comes from the yachts that stop here and in high season it is a buzzing location. It is wise to arrive relatively early to secure a good berth for the night. The slopes that lead down to the village are planted with olive trees and the old red-roofed houses of the hamlet cluster together on the waterfront.
