The rich lush-green vegetation and spectacular secluded beaches harmonise well with the relaxing and peaceful flavor of this islands culture. Enter the harbor to Baie St Anne and follow the channel markers to anchor up to a mooring ball.
A short dinghy ride to the shore, quickly stopping to tour Ille St Anne, a man-made island in the middle of the bay, will find you in the heart of this pretty village. It’s the perfect place to stock up on provisions and souvenirs as you stroll around the few shops selling traditional arts and crafts and it’s also the chance to visit The Black Pearl Shop. Cultured in the only oyster farm in the Indian Ocean from the Seychelles ‘Black Lip Oysters’, these exquisite pearls are then handcrafted into some really stunning jewelery. The shop also holds an aquarium and touch pool where you can learn all about the Giant Clam species.
Further around the island you’ll find the beach of Anse Lazio, you can reach it by taking one of the many buses leaving the harbor. It’s a beautiful secluded bay with crystal-clear turquoise waters, surrounded by granite boulders and with a colorful coral reef to match it’s the perfect spot for a bit of snorkelling or swimming before taking a long relaxing lunch underneath the feather like fingers of a palm tree. In the evening, head back to your boat and cook up a feast with your fresh provisions before watching the sun set over the horizon.
