Guadeloupe is the butterfly-shaped island, its two wings separated by a narrow mangrove channel. The landscape is covered in part with gently rolling fields of sugarcane and also with amazing rainforests, complete with many species of birds and animal life. 

Snorkeling and diving enthusiasts will be delighted by the variety of marine and coral life in the pristine waters that surround the islands that make up Guadeloupe and foodies will have plenty to get excited about too, with the blend of French and Creole influences creating a delicious and distinctive cuisine.

On the quieter islands, many of the inhabitants still wear traditional Creole dress and the mix of African, European and East Indian cultures makes for a melting pot of great charm and intrigue.
