Virgin Gorda's North Sound is the location of one of Tortola's most highly regarded resorts, Bitter End Yacht Club, which is only accessible by water. It's beautiful, remote and well-protected. Bitter End is situated on 75 acres of land with more than a mile of waterfront on the North East end of Virgin Gorda. This is truly the last (and luxurious) outpost before the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

North Sound is filled with beautiful coral reefs and endless beaches. Marine life is abundant and snorkeling sites are spectacular for their color and variety. Brilliant fish such as wrasses, grunts, damselfish and parrotfish abound, and the variety of colorful sponges and corals is umatched.

Bitter End’s major attraction is its lively and well-maintained waterfront with active marine and watersports facilities, restaurants, and shops. The setting is enhanced by lush, well-tended landscaping that features a wide variety of flowering ornamental shrubs, trees and other tropical plantings. The curved strand of waterfront includes three white sand beaches, deep, crystal-clear water, and abundant fish and bird life. Constant tradewinds provide a reliable and comfortable, humidity-free, naturally air conditioned climate. The Bitter End is certainly an ideal stop-over during your Sunsail sailing vacation.

Another location favored by many Sunsailors is the Fat Virgin Cafe, which is located in The Biras Creek Marina Village and is a good spot for a casual bite to eat. Pelicans like to hang out and forage in the mangroves that line the entry to the creek, and keep your eye out for sunbathing iguanas. Biras Creek is also home to a five-star resort that's worth a visit. Berchers Bay, on the Caribbean side, is a fabulous beach with majestic cliffs that are perfect for walking on. On land, spectacular displays of tropical frangipani and allamandas line the walkways of the resort.
