The North Sound has nine different mooring sites and a wide selection of resorts, marinas and scenic anchorages. You will be spoilt for choice when deciding where to moor up and go ashore. It’s somewhere you may want to linger for a day or two, particularly if you are interested in game fishing, as this is one of the world’s great blue marlin fishing grounds.
The legendary and luxurious Bitter End Yacht Club is one place worth a visit. The resort and Quarterdeck Marina here have long been a favorite with sailors from around the world. A visit to the Bitter End on your yacht charter is ideal for romantics (it’s a popular honeymoon destination) as well as active adventurers. Peer into the shark cage by the dinghy dock from a safe distance before heading in to enjoy some of the Bitter End’s excellent facilities. The Sand Palace has nightly open air movies, there’s a swimming pool and swim platform at South Beach, and the selection of shops caters to just about every need you might have.
The Bitter End offers a choice of eating and drinking establishments including the English Carvery and the English Pub. The classic pub bar serves Newcastle Brown Ale and has John Courage on draft. You can even get a beef and Guinness pie.
