Sunsail Responsible Tourism - Destinations

As part of our Responsible Tourism drive, we strive to implement sustainable initiatives at all of our bases by working with the local people and authorities to benefit the areas in which we operate.  As every location is different, there are a whole host of different activities going on however all of them are backed up by our commitment to provide responsibly operated vacations.

British Virgin Islands, Caribbean

Sunsail’s base in Tortola has won the Practical Boat Owner (PBO) Green Award for its integration of features to protect and enhance the local environment. We are also supporting the BVI Tourist Board in their certification program promoting “Clean Marinas”. We have changed all our fittings and light bulbs over to LED and have also contributed to the BVI Marine Awareness Guide, conceived to help residents and visitors understand and interact with the sensitive Marine environment.
